Rosemarie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who spent the majority of her life in White Plains. She was a longtime member of the congregation at St. John the Evangelist Church and maintained strong ties to the community she called home.

Rosemarie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Retired White Plains Police Detective Nicholas Kralik Jr., with whom she built a loving home and raised their family.

She is survived by her son, Retired White Plains Police Captain Nicholas Kralik, as well as her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

The White Plains Police Retirees Association extends its heartfelt condolences to the Kralik family during this difficult time. We remember Rosemarie with warmth and gratitude for her family’s longstanding connection to the White Plains Police Department.

Born in White Plains on February 15, 1937, Roland grew up in Yorktown Heights and graduated from Yorktown High School in 1955. Following graduation, he proudly served his country for four years in the United States Navy aboard the USS Laffey, an experience he remembered fondly throughout his life.

After completing his military service, Roland returned home and began what would become a distinguished career with the White Plains Police Department. Over the course of 22 years, he rose through the ranks, ultimately retiring as a Captain. While working full-time as a police officer, Roland also continued his education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Iona College—an accomplishment that reflected his dedication to both his profession and personal growth.

Following his retirement from the WPPD, Roland and his family relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina. There, he began a successful second career in real estate, working for more than two decades as an agent with Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston.

To generations of White Plains police officers and retirees, Roland will also be remembered simply as “Ripper,” a fellow officer and friend who devoted more than two decades of his life to serving the City of White Plains.

The members of the White Plains Police Retirees Association extend our sincere condolences to Roland’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him. We proudly remember his service to our country, his Department, and the community.

A lifelong son of White Plains, Jack graduated from White Plains High School and enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17, serving as an aviation structural mechanic. Following his discharge in 1960, he returned home and began his career with the White Plains Police Department in 1961.

Jack spent his first ten years serving as a patrolman before taking on responsibilities that would leave a lasting mark on public safety operations in White Plains. For the next decade, he oversaw city-wide public safety communications as well as the Police Department’s motor pool. Among his most notable accomplishments was the development and implementation of CV-50, a mobile communications command center designed for use during major incidents and emergencies. His work helped advance the Department’s communications capabilities and continued to influence operations for years afterward.

Jack’s dedication and service were recognized with numerous honors, including Police Officer of the Year and an award for Meritorious Duty in 1976–77. After twenty years of service, Sergeant Batchie retired from the White Plains Police Department, closing a distinguished career defined by innovation, professionalism and commitment to his fellow officers and the community he served.

Following his retirement, Jack relocated to California and continued working in the communications field, putting the knowledge and experience gained during his years in White Plains to use in the private sector.

The members of the White Plains Police Retirees Association extend our sincere condolences to Jack’s wife, Patti, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his many friends and former colleagues. We remember Jack not only for his accomplishments, but as a member of the White Plains Police family whose contributions became part of the Department’s history.

The room was filled with active and retired members of the White Plains Police Department, along with colleagues from neighboring agencies, all gathered to honor a trailblazer whose legacy continues to resonate. We were proud to welcome Mayor Justin Brasch, Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins, members of the Common Council—Victoria Presser, Jeremiah Frei-Pearson, Evelyn Santiago, and Nick Wolf—as well as County Legislators Jewel Williams-Johnson and Jenn Puja. Also in attendance were Chief of Police Daniel McMahon, Deputy Commissioner Joseph Castelli, and Commissioner of Public Safety Wade Hardy.

Most meaningful of all was the presence of Detective Littleberry’s family, including her daughter and granddaughter, who traveled from North Carolina and Georgia to be part of this unforgettable occasion.

It was more than a ceremony—it was a celebration of legacy, perseverance, and the enduring impact of service.

Member, Wade Hardy, on his recent appointment as Commissioner of Public Safety for the City of White Plains N.Y.

Honorary Member, Chief Joseph Castelli, on his recent appointment as the City of White Plains N.Y. Deputy Commissioner of Public Safety, and also on being named an Aide to the Grand Marshal of the 2026 White Plains St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Captain Daniel McMahon (W.P.P.D) on being appointed to the position of Chief of the City of White Plains Police Department.

And to all the recent recipients of promotions within the City of White Plains Department of Public Safety, both Police & Fire. 

A celebration of the life of German Lopez will be held on 4/9 at the Brazen Fox in their down stairs room at 6pm. 

Kenny served with distinction on the White Plains My Brother’s Keeper Initiative Advisory Committee, where he tirelessly provided encouragement, guidance, and mentorship, especially to at-risk youth. His compassion, dedication, and service left a lasting impact on the City of White Plains Police Department and throughout the community. Our hearts are with his family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Kenny’s legacy.

Throughout his distinguished career, Detective Lee held many roles, including Field Training Officer, Police Instructor, Youth Bureau mentor, and bike safety instructor. He also served in the Special Response Team (SRT), Vice/Narcotics Unit (both undercover and investigative roles), Youth Unit, Neighborhood Conditions Unit, General Investigations Division, and Intelligence Unit.

A highly decorated officer, Detective Lee received more than 70 commendations and awards from the Department, as well as recognition from county and federal law enforcement agencies. He was widely respected for his dedication to the community, his keen investigative abilities, and his exceptional people skills. As a detective, he rose quickly to the top of his division, leading many of the city’s most serious and high-profile cases. His meticulous attention to detail, along with his elite interview and interrogation skills, set him apart. In fact, his work became a training model for law enforcement officers at the local, county, and federal levels.

Beyond his investigative accomplishments, Detective Lee was deeply committed to mentoring others. He taught at the Police Academy, guided countless young officers, and was always willing to share his knowledge and experience with colleagues.

After retiring from the Department, Rick continued his life of service as Stepinac High School’s Wrestling Coach for 17 years. Coach Lee was a respected and beloved figure in the wrestling community—not only at Stepinac but throughout the region. Wrestling was a lifelong passion for him, and he devoted himself to supporting the sport, mentoring young athletes, and strengthening local programs.

Detective Rick Lee will be remembered as a dedicated public servant, a mentor, and a coach who left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Our hearts are with his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
